The MASSPROT core facility, managed by Dr Didier Vertommen, provides proteomics services principally by liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. Our tools are ESI HR/AM Orbitrap coupled to nanoLC. An HDX-MS platform is also available. We specialize in the identification and quantification of proteins from complex samples. The platform also has unique expertise in the identification and quantification of post-translational modifications, which can be a critical asset in the fields of new antibiotic discovery, diabetes, cancer and immunotherapy
The facility provides a full range of proteomics services allowing the isolation, identification and quantitation of proteins of interest for researchers within UCLouvain and to external academic and industrial clients. Many types of analysis are possible: from measurements of masses of intact proteins to differential quantitative phosphoproteomics workflows. The MS platform is always happy to provide advice on experimental design and sample preparation and strongly encourages researchers to discuss their proteomics needs at the very early stages of their research with members of the MASSPROT platform to allow tailored experimental design.
Please contact Dr Didier Vertommen (Proteomics Facility Manager at DDUV) to discuss the proteomic approaches available for your project and the cost of the various services.
