MASSIVE PARALLEL SEQUENCING (NGS)

 

Next Generation Sequencing, NGS (Massive Parallel Sequencing) allows high throughput and high coverage sequencing of a large range of samples, from a single large amplicon to the entire human genome.  It also includes RNA sequencing.  The Genetics platform of UCLouvain hosts three levels of equipment: an Ion Torrent (Personal Genome Machine) system for small-scale sequencing, and an Ion Proton for mid-size projects.
