ABI Sequencer for DNA sequencing – SNaPshot – Fragment Analysis
The 3130xl capillary sequencer from Applied Biosystems (Life Technologies) is installed with an array of 16 capillaries, 33 cm long, using POP7 gel. This platform allows sequencing of all kinds of DNAs, SNP genotyping (SNaPshot) and fragment analysis (RFLPs, STRPs, Paternity testing, …).
USAGE AND CONDITIONS
This sequencer is accessible to all members of the de Duve Institute, as well as to the laboratories of the Medical Faculty of UCLouvain. The sequencer is run by members of the Laboratory of Human Molecular Genetics (GEHU), under the supervision of the person in charge of the platform (the contact person). We provide basic technical support to all users, with one reference person in each lab. Each user should have a user ID to access the platform.
The users prepare their reactions according to our guidelines and we provide the required reagents (bought in bulk). We load the samples in the machine and sequences are available within 1-2 working days. Billing is per aliquots for the reagents and per series of 8 samples minimum for the running cost.
CLCbio main workbench is available from UCLouvain for data analysis.
