Make a bequest
The de Duve Institute may, upon authorization by the Department of Justice, accept bequests. Bequest may include all your assets (universal bequest) or only a part of your assets (specific bequest). Inheritance taxes are low and depend upon the last legal address of the deceased.
Benefits of a dual bequest...
Pay less inheritance taxes?
You have no children and you are willing to leave your assets to relatives or third parties? Or you have children and substantial assets? In either cases, a large part of your assets will go to the government via substantial inheritance taxes that your heirs will have to pay.
"Dual bequests" allow you to reduce the inheritance taxes for your heirs.
Should you need further information regarding this matter, please contact Isabelle de Duve (02/764 75 37 or by email).
"I bequeath to the de Duve Institute, international non-profit organization, located at Avenue Hippocrate 75 - 1200 Brussels, the amount of ... (or all my assets, or whatever your notary will suggest)".
